CARING FOR YOUR JEWELRY -- DOs and DON'Ts
Wearing & Storage
Do keep every piece of your jewelry in a separate pouch to avoid scratches. Do routinely remove makeup, sprays, fragrances, and lotions that may build up on your jewelry making it appear dull.
Don't wear your jewelry while doing sports or handiwork, or while working with chemicals, detergents, colours, or oils.
Don't swim in saltwater or indulge in extended sun bathing while wearing jewelry, as it may cause your precious stones to change or lose colour.
SILVER and GOLD
Do wipe your sterling silver after wearing, using the cloth we have provided. Tarnish that cannot be wiped off should be soaked in warm water with a little bit of mild soap, then brushed softly, using a delicate, smooth toothbrush, and finally rinsed and dried carefully, using a soft, dust-free cloth. Don't use silver polish, silver cleaning agents, or cleaning solutions. These products will destroy the patina that we have created on many of our pieces.
Attention: Do never use an Ultrasonic Cleaner for jewelery with patina, but clean it like described above.
ORGANIC GEMSTONES, OPAQUE GEMSTONES
These include obsidian, amber, jet, turquoise, corals, all pearls, opals, lapis lazuli, howlite, chalcedony, agate, carnelian, epidote, and jadeite.Do use only a damp soft cloth to wipe these gemstones.
Don't clean these gemstones with an Ultrasonic Cleaner.
Don't let these gemstones come into contact with chemicals such as chlorine or bleach.
Do clean jewelry having gemstones, using the same procedure described for silver and gold.
